Elon Musk joins Twitter Board of Directors

Elon Musk, the owner of luxury car maker Tesla and one of the world’s richest men, has joined the board of directors of a microblogging site after buying the largest stake in Twitter.

According to Reuters, Twitter’s chief executive officer (CEO) Prague Agarwal confirmed in a tweet that Elon Musk has been added to the board of directors.

He said in a brief tweet that after months of negotiations with Elon Musk, the company was convinced that he was in their best interests, so he was being made part of the board of directors.

Elon Musk thanked Twitter CEO for being part of the board of directors, and expressed his pleasure at working with microblogging.

According to Reuters, Elon Musk was added to the board of directors at a time when two days ago he had bought the largest share of Twitter, about 10%.

Elon Musk became Twitter’s largest shareholder, a day or two after he was added to the board of directors.

Interestingly, over the past few weeks, Elon Musk has been criticizing Twitter and hinting at launching its own social media platform.

Elon Musk has been rumored to be launching a social media platform since January this year, but surprisingly he has joined Twitter’s board of directors.

Twitter shares also rose 20 percent after Elon Musk joined the board of directors.
